Description
The number of Nepalese people living in the UK increased significantly after the government's announcement in 2004 and 2009, allowing retired Gurkhas to settle in the country. The influx of retired Gurkhas and their families brought about challenges and inspired the idea to form an organization to help their welfare and preserve their culture. Gorkha Zilla Gurung Samaj UK was established in 2008, with the aim of providing moral and financial support to its members and supporting underprivileged people in the UK and abroad. The organization is independent, non-profitable, non-political, and non-religious, and cooperates with other similar social and charitable organizations to enhance its role.
