The Supply Register is currently recruiting on behalf of Southwark College, part of NCG, for a reliable, enthusiastic and experienced Catering Assistant / Kitchen Porter to join their catering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for food, excellent kitchen skills and experience working within a school, college or similar educational environment. Please note: This is an immediate start opportunity. Applicants must hold a valid DBS certificate registered on the Update Service. The Role As a Catering Assistant / Kitchen Porter, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the college's catering facilities. Your responsibilities will include: Assisting with the preparation and serving of food and beverages. Maintaining a clean, tidy and hygienic kitchen and catering environment. Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment. Supporting the kitchen team with general food preparation and service duties. Ensuring food hygiene and health and safety standards are consistently maintained. Providing friendly and professional service to students, staff and visitors. Supporting the wider catering team during busy service periods. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Has previous experience working as a Catering Assistant, Kitchen Porter or in a similar kitchen-based role. Has experience working within a school, college or educational setting. Has a good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen health and safety.
