Reception Teaching Assistant Location: Rochester, Kent Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm Start Date: Immediate Start Contract Type: Temporary The Role We are currently seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Rochester. This is a full-time position supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support learning activities, encourage children's development, and promote independence both inside and outside the classroom. Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS learning activities. Work with individual pupils and small groups to enhance learning and development. Assist with phonics, early literacy, numeracy, and creative activities. Encourage positive behaviour and foster a nurturing classroom environment. Support children's social, emotional, and physical development. Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment. The Ideal Candidate Has previous experience working with children within a school or childcare setting. Experience within EYFS or Reception is desirable. Demonstrates patience, enthusiasm, and a nurturing approach. Has excellent communication and teamwork skills. Holds an Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
