Warehouse Operative Salary: £35,000 Location: Thatcham Job Type: Permanent Shift Patterns: Monday to Thursday: 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm, 10pm – 6am Friday: 6am – 11.30am, 11.30am – 5pm, 5pm – 10.30pm Alternate shift patterns including nights – 37.5-hour week. About the Role We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join a busy and growing operation based in Thatcham. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced warehouse environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day warehouse function, ensuring goods are received, stored, picked, packed, and dispatched efficiently. Previous forklift experience would be highly beneficial but is not essential. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Receiving, unloading, and checking incoming deliveries. Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch. Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently. Maintaining accurate stock levels and reporting discrepancies. Ensuring goods are stored correctly within the warehouse. Keeping the warehouse clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards. Assisting with stock counts and inventory management. Operating warehouse equipment safely and responsibly. Supporting the wider team to ensure operational targets are met. Using a forklift truck when required (if qualified). Required Skills & Qualifications Previous experience working within a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment. Good attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to work. Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties.
