As a teaching assistant, you will primarily support students with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), as well as students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and other complex needs. This school is easily accessible from around London, with great transport links. Teaching Assistant Responsibilities: Working with and supporting students with ASD, ADHD and other needs, such as anxiety or requiring support with communication. Providing academic support, either one-on-one or in a small group. Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom culture and providing emotional support when needed. Implementing behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and safe learning environment. Using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage focus and self-control. Assisting with lesson planning and delivery. Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students. Teaching Assistant Requirements: The right to work in the UK. A clear and up-to-date DBS. Experience working as a teaching assistant. Experience working with young people and an understanding of ASD. The ability and confidence to really engage and interact with the students. A patient and 'can-do' attitude and the ability to work under pressure.
